Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.s)

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.s)

About the meal

Why so many calories at once?

Yes, a meal contains 600, 900 or 1200 calories. A lot you might think but did you know that (depending on age, gender, work, sport, among other things) humans need an average of 1500 to 3000 calories a day? Each person’s diet differs and so does the breakfast that best suits them. In addition, we are proponents of intermittent fasting. Want to know more about this? Then look under the heading: intermittent fasting, what is that? Would you like to have more information on the required amount of calories? Then contact us or a nutritionist such as an orthomolecular therapist.

Does the meal contain good nutritional values?

Because of the natural products, the meals contain many healthy nutrients. In addition, it is packed with vitamins and minerals, providing you with a good daily intake.

Are there any additives in it?

Our meal is free of preservatives, added sugars, and synthetic colors, flavors, and fragrances.

Why are there so many fats in the meal?

The right fats are good for our health. For example, nuts and seeds are good for your LDL cholesterol and protect against certain cardiovascular diseases. In addition, they are a source of energy, so excellent to start your day with!

Can I use the meal as a substitute?

The meal is a nice alternative to your regular breakfast or lunch. Also, you can eat the meal later in the day or spread it throughout the day. The meal is not a substitute for a varied diet. You eat this in conjunction with other meals. Otherwise, you won’t get an adequate variety of nutritional value. We recommend a varied diet at all times.

What do I receive with my order?

You will receive from us the number of meals you ordered in a take-a-way package. However, we do not supply the fruit with it, due to freshness guarantee. You also have to buy the optional oil yourself.

I can't eat so much at once, how do I do it?

Divide the meal over two days. Very simple through our take-a-way tray. You can then try to eat a little more each day which trains your body to be able to process more at once. Just make sure you take one less portion of food to avoid overeating.

Preparation

Can I add honey to the meal?

In principle, you may do this, provided you don’t do it too often. Fruit already contains plenty of natural sugars. If you use honey too often, you will consume too many sugars. We recommend adding honey at most once a week or less. Also keep in mind that high consumption of honey puts a lot of pressure on the global bee population. Always choose fairly produced honey, preferably from a local beekeeper.

Which oil should I use?

We prescribe extra virgin olive oil (1st cold pressing) or flaxseed oil but any other good vegetable oil is also allowed of course. Make sure you use a good quality oil, preferably organic and as little processed as possible. Poor quality oil will prevent you from getting the right nutrients, which will eliminate the desired effect.

What types of fruit can I use?

This is entirely to your liking! You can vary it completely. Choose one (or more) fruits to suit your taste. The fruit is a real tastemaker for breakfast. Just be careful not to eat too much fruit. One piece or two handfuls with the meal is sufficient. Here are some examples of fruits you can use (note: list is not complete).

Apple, apricots, avocado, banana, blackberries, blood orange, blueberries, cherries, currants, dates, figs, galia melon, grapes white or blue, guava, kanzi, kiwi, lemon, lime, lychees, mango, mandarin, nectarine, nispel, orange, papaya, passion fruit, peach, pear, pineapple, plums, pomegranate, raspberries, strawberries, tamarind, watermelon.

How much water should I add?

It depends. We do recommend that you use 75ml for 600kcal and 125ml for 900kcal. However, this is a guideline. Want your breakfast a little bit more soupy? Then you can add a little more water. Want the meal to be more solid? Then, you simply add a little less water. Just try it out and choose your own composition.

Can I also use dairy?

No, we don’t recommend using dairy. Humans are not made to process dairy. In fact, many people have a lactose intolerance without even knowing or noticing it. As a result, the lactose is not easily digested. In addition, we get calcium from many other products.

Sustainability

How sustainable is the meal?

The meal is sustainable both for yourself and for nature. We work exclusively with products directly from nature. Not processed and a low footprint. We also work with packaging that is completely organic.

What does the packaging consist of?

Our packaging (both the container and the pouch) consists of organic materials and is therefore 100% compostable. In doing so, we try to minimize the impact on nature. However, we recommend not to throw the packaging in the GFT, but simply to separate it. The processing of compostable packaging is not yet so advanced and actually creates more impact.

What are you doing for nature?

We are doing our part to combat bee mortality. Without the existence of bees, humans can live at most another 2 years. We contribute a percentage of our profits to the fund to combat bee mortality. In addition, we try to work with as many sustainable materials as possible.

What are you doing in your business operations?

We try to work exclusively with durable materials. From flyers to delivery. Basically, we try to take a good look at everything. We always weigh up with the option that has the least impact on nature. In addition, we work digitally as much as possible.

Intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting, what is it?

This means that you eat within a certain time frame. There are several methods of doing this, one of the most well-known is the 16:8 method. This means that you eat your meals within 8 hours and do not eat or drink containing anything with energy for the remaining 16 hours. This means you can only drink water, black coffee and green or herbal tea. It is also a good idea to adjust your meal frequency downwards so that you get your nutrition in 2 or 3 meals. So our breakfast fits in perfectly with this.
